Tips & Advice

Faqs

Please look at my tips for hopefully a good night's sleep for everyone!!!!

  1. Tips on choosing your baby's comforter.

    1. Buy more than one! You never know when your baby's favourite toy may get lost or need a good wash!! 2. Keep your tags & labels just in case you need to replace the item. This will make life a lot easier if you need another in a hurry. 3. Any new comforter needs your smell... so, cuddle it or put it in your bed to get that comforting smell for your baby. 4. If you have chosen a particular comforter (may be a slumber bear, sleepytot, taggie, noonoo - see our comforter range) then make sure this is the only toy in his/her cot/crib at bedtime, otherwise he/she may find something else which may not work or have your smells on !!!!! 5. Lastly if you have other children choose different comforters to avoid confusion. XX SWEET DREAMS XX

  2. My Sleep Routine Tips........

    1. Set a Bedtime and stick to it. 2. "Wind down time" - 1 hour to wind down, this may include structured playtime leading on to a soothing bath, drink & snack & bedtime story. 3. Establish regular sleep cues so your child will come to know what to expect when it is time for bed. Perhaps with the addition of a musical toy, comforter, night lighting or even a sleep suit. 4. Put your child to sleep in the same cot/bed every night will make this a familiar place just for sleep & the ultimate cue for sleep. 5. Always Be Consistent!!!!!

  3. What age can I set a bedtime routine??

It's never too late to set a bedtime routine. All this means is that you teach your baby to settle her/his self to sleep at night and back to sleep if awoken. Once you have cracked the dropping off to sleep on his/her own you can move on to settling back off to sleep if they wake, usually after 6 -9 months when the night feed isn't wanted!

  4. Bedding safety advise.

Keep a room thermometer in baby's room. Follow bedding & blanket instructions on packaging.

  5. Benefits of a sleeping bag..

sleeping bags are designed to be comfy, safe & warm. Sleeping bags keep baby warm when feeding at night. baby is less likely to wake up from kicking off the bed sheets & blankets. Sleeping bags have a variety of tog ratings for the changing temperatures. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS.
